The Art Flex

Introducing The ART Flex - a newsletter that will feature news and updates around the intersectionality of race, ethnicity and art and how all that plays out, globally, in production, dissemination, and conversations ✊🏽

Art content has long been written from a white, western male perspective, so what would an alternative canon look like? There’s a growing awareness that the story of art as we’ve known it and taught it and presented it is only one story, and that there are many others.

Tazuri

2016-2020 Tazuri was a digital-first non-profit art space and curatorial platform that aimed to empower artists and creatives from historically overlooked and undervalued groups and regions.

Tazuri worked on empowering artists and art professionals by shifting the narrative and power dynamics and connecting creatives with resources, galleries, opportunities and a wider audience by curating and producing events, exhibitions, and workshops. Tazuri integrated technology into everything we did while helping redefine the roles of the artist and audience and gallerist and overturn all kinds of expectations on what an art gallery is.
